right. like, what bari weiss was saying, in front of a jewish audience, was, "i think that the media should reflect mainstream ideas, such as the idea that the jewish billionaire who placed me in charge of the news is part of a conspiracy whereby jewish billionaires control the news."
Some of the replies to this are just "yeah because they're billionaires" and I think that's missing what makes it all so disturbing. A lot of these people are like, Jews from the generation immediately after the Holocaust. It's *incomprehensible* that they dismiss shit like Musk doing Hitler salutes
i went through like nine separate revisions of this tweet because the actual substance of it -- "conservative jewish billionaires somehow don't care about antisemitism against american jews" -- has the pattern of an antisemitic conspiracy theory but is substantively the inverse of one.

I’m really basking in this bc during the primary, I got a lot of heat from centrist YIMBY types calling me overly credulous/deluded for saying Zohran would be a good mayor and would support building more housing

never have I been happier to have been vindicated

so it turns out Klippenstein left out a very important detail which is that its 170 crimes *of which a person has been convicted* not what they've been accused of
NYC's sanctuary laws are considerably more liberal than the Democratic party is now but this won't be received well.

The fourth best Star Wars movie is the animated Star Wars the clone wars movie because it is a good children’s movie that is fun enough to watch as an adult(according to my dad) that also makes sense in and adds to the larger Star Wars universe.

alas, there's a lot of sanewashing in this piece - even as it expresses frustration in RFK, it treats him as a legitimate, good faith actor in a way that's just not true.
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

also, frankly, RFK's personal story is way less important than the fact that he is going to kill many, many people.

I don't think the press should be some government mouthpiece. I actually agree with the "fourth estate" people that a healthy, free press is indispensable to representative government! That's precisely why they need to be punished severely for how they have behaved over the past 30 years.
