Students in the Steelton-Highspire School District will not return to classes until Oct. 14.

The district opted to cancel in-person classes on Wednesday after a 26-year-old man was killed and his brother was injured in a shooting around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Surelis Moquete filed a lawsuit against the Harrisburg School District and Dawna Holbert, a former teacher at Lincoln Elementary School, over the November 15, 2024 incident.
