I wanted a book to make me cry. I asked for recommendations and added them to my library holds and bought some too.

At that time I asked, my library finally brought in ‘The Correspondent’ by Virginia Evans. Oh my. Not only is this book told entirely in epistolary style (swoon) it made me cry! 👍❤️

Look at what’s in our tree!! ❤️❤️ so beautiful. Surprising to see during the day though. #OwlSky

It was in the group I bought today! (The library holds were too long for it and my patience is too short!)

I feel like some of my reading was dragging me down, not fulfilling my love for reading. I went to my shelves for older #CanLit to help reset my reading.

I cannot say enough of how great it is to be in the hands of the master of the short story.

I’m not a cat person, but these two audiobooks featuring cats on their covers have been some of the best reading I’ve had this year.

It looks like #cats and #audiobooks for the win.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been sent a book by the publisher, but I happily accepted the new Elinor Florence, ‘Finding Flora’.

Good timing since I just finished a book and was looking for a new one! Thank you #Simon&SchusterCanada 🇨🇦 #ElinorFlorence #CanLit

It’s going to be a chilly week, but this morning did not disappoint - it’s a beautiful day out there.

As earlier stated - today was a vacation day / self care / mental health day.

Did spend a lot of it sleeping but also walked my normal trail when I saw this big guy just calmly sitting in the edge of the trail.

I felt I’ve been in a 3-month long reading slump. Some good books but mostly not. 😕 Everyone has proclaimed this to be the very best book ever.

Buddy reading this with my fellow Hoarder. Wish us luck and I do hope this is the knock-my-socks off book I’m desperate for!

The picture doesn’t let you hear the redwing blackbirds, woodpeckers, robins, cardinals and geese that were all happily letting their presence known.

The woodpeckers were extremely active in these trees this morning!

Just finished this beautifully written love letter to Emily Dickinson. #PaleShadows #DominiqueFortier

I do hope this one is moved forward to the @carolshieldsprize.bsky.social Shortlist.

Beautiful translation by #RhondaMullins as always

It was bright and sunny this morning, could hear more birds singing and the temps are getting a touch warmer. Was a nice morning for a walk 🙂

I love this. Because it’s 1000% accurate.

My #FridayReads is Jo Nesbo’s ‘Blood Ties’.

The 2nd after ‘The Kingdom’ which I thoroughly enjoyed, I can’t wait to get started on this one!

No distractions! Putting my phone away, drinking my tea and finally going to finish this book. THE GOD OF THE WOODS by Liz Moore. It’s raining outside so it’s a perfect reading day!

I’m also listening to The Devil All the time by Donald Ray Pollock. Enjoying immensely the performance given by Mark Bramhall.

Still reading The God in the Woods by Liz Moore but the library holds keep showing up! So I also have Confessions by Catherine Airey to read as well.

Currently reading two with moody green type covers.

Noticing more green tones are being used over the blue that was everywhere years ago.

The Safekeep and The God of the Woods.

I just picked this one up from the library today. It’s BRAND NEW. I am the first person to open it. That gives me so much joy! 😊 Only have 7 days to read it before it’s due back though. (I’m in 🇨🇦 and I love my library!)

Work is an overpowering nightmare right now and I get my life back at the end of the week, but for now, can quickly post that this is what I’m reading now.
