Self-Indulgent art isn’t bad, it just feels bad if you’ve internalised toxic work patterns etc. Self indulgent might be in contrast to chasing the algorithm, pushing skills/study, or even doing other - art unrelated - things. It’s only used negatively cause of like, grindset reasons.
