Lovely piece about visitors to @rspbcymru.bsky.social Cors Ddyga's new wetland pools, "slivers of liquid light, their margins still mottled dark with freshly turned mud and root, harbouring long-buried organic treasure, waiting to be snatched".

Many lichen species are sensitive to nitrogen pollution, making them natural indicators of air quality.

📱LicheN is a new app enabling people to help monitor air quality using lichens. Data gathered will improve understanding of N pollution and its impacts on ecosystems.

Guten morgen. Love the range of cheeses available at the local market. I could even have bought a #Snowdonia cheese.

But we need a word about geographic origin, Deutschland.
Snowdonia "Black Bomber" cheese for sale on a market stall in northern Germany. The accompanying sign (8.50 Euros a piece) shows its country of origin as England.

This is an area that is home to sensational wildlife – from Little Terns at the coast to Black Grouse and Hen Harriers on the moors. If the Glyndwr National Park goes ahead it must have a strong focus on driving nature recovery and tackling climate change.

Exciting news! We’re planning the upcoming Bird Atlas 2027-31, and have met with @birdwatchireland.bsky.social @scottishbirding.bsky.social and @birdsinwales.bsky.social to discuss how we can work together on what we hope will be the most productive Atlas yet. #Ornithology #UKBirding

So much more we need to do to reverse the decline in swift numbers in Wales. Future generations must not be deprived of their iconic cries on a summer evening

Today is the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) debate on swift bricks to be installed in all new buildings in Wales. Over 10,000 people signed a petition to get this debate, lets hope they make the right decision.
Thank you to @iolowilliams.bsky.social for his support!

Has been great to work with colleagues from @rspbcymru.bsky.social, @northwaleswt.bsky.social, Swift groups across Wales and youth voices in support of this petition. Hope Senedd Members support and Welsh Government do the right thing.

The Swifts don't know (they're whizzing around over Africa now) but it's their big day @senedd.wales. I'm on BBC Radio #Wales in a few minutes talking about the petition to mandate Swift Bricks in new buildings, started by @juliabarrell.bsky.social

Every new building in Wales could be a home for Swifts – if we make Swift bricks mandatory.
‼️The debate is in the Senedd is tomorrow. ‼️
Contact your local MS today and tell them how important it is to protect Swifts. Every voice counts!
