The Mississippi miracle keeps coming up with conservative prognosticators. When I look at scores of 3rd grade vs 8th grade it doesn’t look as impressive. 8th grade scores have stagnated more or less since 98. Am I missing something? #edusky

I don’t make it out to concerts as much as I would like, but seeing Texas is the reason, Ted Leo, and Slow Joy last night was the joy I needed.
I bought my Texas is the reason LP in high school so to finally see them 25 years later was a bucket list goal accomplished.

My journey comes to its end. I follow what’s left of the trail and make my way back to the hotel. Have I found independence? Have I realized it’s all a farce? I’m not still adrift in providence so I’ll take it as a success.

Coming down from the state house the green line is just visible enough to know where I’m going. It leads me right to the Cheesecake Factory and Panera bread. The American independence is palpable. These are the chains this country is built on.

Rhode Island state house. Not sure what that has to do with independence. The green line comes and goes depending on what construction has taken place.

I’m now back to crossing the river again. The green line is coming back. Maybe I don’t need the map. The green might be weathered but looking stronger.

I’m on a bike path. I’m still off course. There are old wind turbines repurposed as benches and shelters. It’s fantastic but I’m still off course. Great views of the canal. In terms of following the trail, I’m failing. But I’m loving what I’m seeing.
