Girl, no. Uneducated perspectives on historical power inequities are unwelcome, because no person of color is being paid to teach you, you haven’t done the homework, and you seem to lack the capacity to center Black peoples’ perspectives in their space. It’s rude, and this is not your classroom.

I also love that they had access to a pretty decent camera, a music device, audiobook player, and other applications in one portable device the school didn’t have to pay for. We used ALL of those pieces on a daily basis.

After an actual lockdown event, I refuse to do anything that prevents parents from contacting their kids in an emergency. My lids also need to use their phones for job stuff, and I ask them to photograph their assignments for submission. It’s an issue we have had to figure out.

Inside were her crib notes for attacking the senators.
