So Marines infantry based just outside of Joshua Tree has gotten orders to prepare for deployment.

Gonna remind everyone that this is illegal.

This week has been a year. Hit a tree on the way to rehearsal. In the rain. Thankful that it was just the thinnest part. No damage to me, or the car, or the cello.
Then a sick cat. And me with a cold. And politics in the US. Exhausting.

Hey NYTimes — *now* you’re lighting the beacons? NOW?!? After months of “Sauron: Avatar Of Evil… Or Extreme Uniter?” thumbsucker reporting you’re screaming what we’ve known since 2015? Fuck all the way off.

So incredibly insulting to ATC personnel to blame “DEI hires” for the tragic loss of life last night. I know the kind of rigorous training they must pass. My son is a pilot, and F47 is wrong on all of it. So irresponsible it’s criminal.

Listening to great music live, beautifully rendered by a fine orchestra and soloist, is a balm for the soul. Dear husband booked an overnight trip to a city that gave us the above with a gorgeous hotel stay and dinner. No matter where you live, go listen to some live music! Feed your spirit!

Just watched Bill Maher skewer EVERYBODY on CNN. Satire, yes, and I even laughed a wee bit. But man, I don’t like this bitter place we find ourselves in.

Or served in combat. And that’s just the women. This position is far too important for a man of dubious character and a deeply flawed past to head such an enormous agency, where national security is at risk. I say vote NO. Surely there are better qualified candidates.

2. I want to know how someone so poorly qualified could think himself ready to manage the Defense Department! Not exactly a stellar record in management, nor military rank or leadership. It’s insulting to the veterans who have fought and died for this country, and for Senators who have lost limbs

I must admit my sadness and frustration with today’s hearing for Sec. of Defense. I found the questions shallow, despite the hard hitting nature of the questions about his personal life. We already know his”story”.

I’m reading Jason Stanley’s book, How Fascism Works. Highly recommend that we who care about democratic rule of law read it. Forewarned is forearmed.

What lights you up? How are you navigating the bumpy waters we find ourselves in?
I have found that embodied stillness and focusing on my breath, doing things with intention and being 100 percent present is the best thing I can do for myself. Doing one thing at a time…
