Art beginning of COVID vs Now #✏️
Not a great comparison bc one's a doodle and the other is a poster, but I just wanted an excuse to post Kaiba again 🥰
Fanart of Kaiba as personified from Yugioh Abridged. He poses with a card while saying: "Screw the rules, I have money." with a blue eyes white dragon behind him. In the background he's flying a BEWD shaped jet while jizzing himself, and at the bottom, mokuba is telling kaiba: "I love you, Seto!" and Kaiba replies: "Shut up, Mokuba!" while Kaiba is secretly thinking about Mokuba dressed as a princess, who's demurely whispering: "I heart you Seto"

I forget what the context of that was, whether Mokuba was crossdressing or it was some imaginary card hallucination An illustration of Fei Yen playing Virtual On at the arcade except she's looking away, posing for the camera and making a V with her fingers next to her face, while onscreen she's died and seems to have never hit her opponent a single time

Realistically, there's no way for her to actually sit in the cabinet with her hovering metal dress and back thrusters in the way, but that's the magic of camera angles

And also pretend that the arcade cabinet is like 40 stories tall

Is the Gigi plushie out already? If so, there might be some stock out there! For ex: there was no Fuwamoco plushies anywhere last year but now that their bday merch came out and exists, I saw them at a few secondhand stores. I didn’t check the official shop tho bc last time the line was hours long
persona.bsky.social
Yeah, if you find Hololive stuff, you’ll be lucky if there’s EN folks with them, but it also depends. Most likely you can find Myth and maybe Promise but Advent is much rarer. Meanwhile, Justice merch doesn’t really exist yet. I only saw one store that had any for Justice and it was a sticker 🤷

I love Rampart! I played it so much on my brother’s computer growing up. It’s such a neat blend of arcade multiplayer vs, city building, and strategy game!

Imagine a world where Rampart evolved and the series became a global esport like StarCraft 💭

It’s so good! It also comes with an accurate stupidly long tail lol
persona.bsky.social
Hmm you’re right, I haven’t actually tested this out

Time to find out!
persona.bsky.social
lol I can guess which one of these you go to 👀
persona.bsky.social
The only games I played on 360 were Protect Me Knight, Galaga Legions, Space Invaders Infinity Gene, and Strania: The Stella Machine. Absolute gems, all of them
persona.bsky.social
Yeah! I also appreciate that it’s translated in English too.

I wonder if Udon will release it in America, or if Capcom wants to keep it weirdly exclusive like it does now

And some other things with more details in alt text!

The last one is an adapter that makes the Sega Saturn 3D controller work on PC, complete with tiny right stick! Love that it actually executes the dream the 3D controller was originally made for: being modular with different expansions 🪐
Various books, albums, and more from BEEP.

The books cover the art of Tadashi Yamashita (artist of Pac-Man), the art of Hiroshi Ono aka Mr Dotman (the creator of many iconic Namco characters and more), and various pre-electronic pocket games.

The albums are me-ness by Keishi Yonao and the Love and Berry 20th Anniversary album. I was debating whether I should’ve gotten it or not considering the music in Love and Berry is pretty bad but my Love and Berry love overrode my indecision lol

I also got the Beep LE of Mamoru kun is Cursed which features an extra album and pin. Actually I don’t know if it’s Beep exclusive but I’ll like to believe.

Also a Pai sticker in a neat style. I also got Black a sticker of Pudding and Evila from Space Channel 5 in the same style 🥰 A plushie of Nessa that was sold at Ikebukuro K-Books for 600 yen lol

Next to her is a figure of Nyaa from Gundam GQuuuuuuX and an acrylic keychain of the Red Gundam hanging from her hand. Nyaa is surprisingly unpopular? Her second hand stuff was much easier to find than Mashu.

In front of them is the promo code card featuring shiny Koraidon and Miraidon. My friend had to show his Switch with a copy of Pokemon Scarlet on it to a store clerk to get the card on day 1. Same day all the cards were immediately scalped on auction sites which really sucks for all the kids. But that also happened in America so 🤷😔😔😔 Various Pokemon doujinshi by Komoten. They feature comics and illustrations crossing over the Pokemon series, plus my fav, a book about freshly isekai-ed Ingo having to find his place in Hisui by being a babysitter and all the chaos that happens.

These kinda things are the real lost media!!

I also had a fav artist that drew pencil comics that they posted on geocities that are long gone now, but thankfully kid me printed them out so I have some record of them (somewhere)
persona.bsky.social
Looks like you got some rare Sega Direct-only merch! Have you ever worn it??
persona.bsky.social
Dang, that UI kinda rules

I should’ve given the game a try back in the day instead of assuming it was bad moeslop 😔

Here’s 原点回帰-クリスタル版の想い出を掘り起こす本 by 少年あっぷリけ. It’s a personal journal of Pokemon Crystal filled with doodles, notes, and personal stories. Absolutely charming and exactly the kind of fanbook I’d love to make. Really fun and inspiring!

Available here: booth.pm/ja/items/655...
The cover of Return to the Roots - A Book to Dig Up Memories of the Crystal Version by Shounen Applique, and also an extra business card and post card that came with it. A spread featuring the start of the author’s journey in Crystal and lots of cute doodles it’s so good More notes about the journey and NPCs A chart breaking down the various Nintendo system cameos in the mainline Pokemon games. It’s interesting how each cameo works as a historical reference for what the corresponding hardware was at the time
persona.bsky.social
Ohhhhhhhhhh it all makes sense now

Konami sure loved tickling virtual ladies during this era
persona.bsky.social
Did it work like how you controlled options in Gradius V? Also lol why did that need a touch panel, I love it
persona.bsky.social
For example, I had no idea the arcade version of Otomedius used a touch screen! What was it used for?

Imagine going to EVO & pulling out this beautiful Otomedius-exclusive Hyper Stick Pro! Then cramming your arms to the left to play and suspiciously rubbing the touch screen, it’s just too powerful
A spread featuring limited edition goods for Blue Dragon on the Xbox 360 and Otomedius Gorgeous. The Otomedius LE was only sold on Konami Style and includes a stick where half of the surface is taken up by a touch screen??? Like look at that beast, I would love to try it out and also see the insides and see how it’s wired. What a crazy official stick I love it
persona.bsky.social
Here’s First Limited Edition Maniacs by World‘s end Alice, a series that extensively covers goods from limited edition game releases. I love the cover art that uses little prop consoles & dolls, and I’m amazed that most of the photos aren’t stock but taken by the author!

worldsendalice.booth.pm
Various issues of First Limited Edition Maniax covering the Mega Drive Mini, PS1, PS2, Sega Saturn, PSP, 3DS, PS4 and more! Though the cover features the systems, the contents usually cover various game series that debuted or were popularized on that platform and go beyond just the scope of the system. A spread featuring merch from Feel the Magic: XY/XX. I had no idea any of this stuff existed??? There was a Feel the Magic Swatch watch?????????? A spread of Space Channel 5 limited edition goods. There’s the LE from Part 2, the Ulala Figma (I regret not getting it when it was available), an alarm clock, the American toys for part 1, and merch from the pop up shop for the VR game Dolls of Honey from Fighting Vipers 1 & 2! I’ve seen the doll of the first game but never the second before. Wish there was one of her Fighters Megamix appearance as well
persona.bsky.social
Yeah, being in Japan made it an ideal time to get them and save on shipping lol

A look at Kon's game industry activity history volume 1/2! These feature stories & never-before-seen art from his time at Technos working on the Kunio kun series and unreleased games. I had no idea they worked on an Aliens vs Predator pitch or a realistic-style Kunio kun fighter 🤯

konart19.booth.pm
Covers of Kon’s game industry activity history volume 1 & 2 Spread featuring sprites and the flyer for the arcade Kunio kun 1 plus Kon’s notes about the development A spread featuring concept art for a 1990/1991 Aliens vs Predator pitch for Technos America, based on the comic book, not the movie Spread featuring concept art for a realistic proportions Kunio kun fighting game that they scrapped when everyone quit Technos

A closer look at Paper Driver, a 2023 Mega Drive Mini fanbook by system11/ねこうなん. It features a comic about Rika and Arle visiting a Mega Drive-themed theme park! There’s also codes for games on the Mega Drive Mini!

You can buy it here: booth.pm/ja/items/494...
Cover of Paper Driver, a Mega Drive Mini unofficial fanbook by system11/ねこうなん Rika and Arle visit Megadoland. They are accosted by Eggman and given free cosplay until Eggman suggests Golden Axe’s Tyris’s outfit and Arle kills him.
