Locally in Georgia, Dems haven't had the opportunity to push much policy but even our boldest wouldn't propose something as ambitious as HOPE today.
People do not see government as something that helps. Just a hindrance to get past at best.

I think a big part of voter apathy is this. By far the biggest Dem policy win in 30 years was the ACA and it is an incredibly flawed compromise vs what it could have been.

my kid has a hybrid corolla and they fill it up maybe every 2 weeks for $25/35. 10 gal tank. Consistently getting 55 mpg commuting to school 20 miles each way.
And even with that tiny engine its deceptively peppy to drive.
