Seeking refuge in trivial minutiae, I remember how the Airwolf TV series pilot episode established that weapon selection *had* to be done by a systems specialist (e.g. Santini) sitting in the back, while subsequent episodes showed Hawke could just rely upon a stock clip of a hand pushing the button.
