You are right and in that regard the log scale adds less value than a company that goes from 13% to 8% annual growth. Easily visible on log scale and less so on linear scale.

Agree, so China’s policies are essentially forcing the US and Europe to adopt a modern version of a mercantile economy.

So if the geopolitical objective is self-reliance in order to maximize strategic flexibility and options in the future how does a country like the US achieve that objective?

Having said that I do believe the US equity is discounting too much earnings growth and that valuation will likely be drag on returns from here but not the extent the CAPE ratio suggests. 3/n

Market and the economy are very different compared to 100 years ago. Investors understand equity valuation much better today. There is a reason why Warren Buffett could 2x P/E ratio stocks in 1960s. 2/n
