It isn't clear why you say the UK government are failing to act when the conference is being held here in the UK and the minister made the opening address.

Regarding Waspi will your party have an Opposition Day debate to force a vote on the issue in the HOC as was being suggested last year?

Corbyn was Labour leader at the 2019 election. Starmer the leader in 2024, an election where they made it perfectly clear no money was being set aside for Waspi compensation. Which election was it that you voted Labour when Starmer "pretended"?

161k UK citizens want the government to introduce a compensation scheme and signed the Waspi petition. Hardly 74% in a poll where the questions and methodology were never published.

You are lucky to have such a sensible MP

It's clear that a lot of references to Waspi are from those who oppose Labour, don't understand the maladministration issue and just tack it onto their list.

No commitment was made, quite the reverse

It was graduated. The 1995 Pensions Act gave 15 years notice of the change which increased the qualifying age incrementally over a 10 year period. Not sudden. Not tomorrow.

Waspi prepared a briefing for MPs which states that the Treasury have "saved" £181 billion as a result of the changes to state pension age. They believe this money "saved" could be used to pay compensation. They expect to be taken seriously by MPs.

Nobody, let alone someone who was both a party member and Waspi supporter, could possibly have been misled. Reeves spelt it out and Waspi posted repeatedly. Party policy and government spending is not made by individual MPs and candidates holding placards at the request of Waspi at conference.

You now appear to accept the rise in SPA was indeed enacted by the Conservatives in 2014. Note the Mirror article refers to "implementation" of a longstanding change. There has been no recent change, which can only be made by primary legislation.

The increase in the state pension age was enacted by the Conservative government in the Pensions Act 2014.

Waspi made it clear that Labour had not included compensation in their manifesto. The then Shadow Chancellor said this in a widely publicised statement. Voters knew exactly where they stood on this issue and supported them.

Waspi themselves made it perfectly clear before the election that Labour were not going to pay compensation.

Not only that but the APPG and Rebecca Long Bailey have turned a deaf ear to promoting cooperation between groups

It's unlikely the government will be "forced" to do anything. This is the motion that will be debated.
