Celebrated excellence at the Michelin Guide Awards in Vancouver Thursday evening. Our city's restaurants and bars are flourishing, and while we've always known they are world-class, it's exciting to see them honoured by an international organization like Michelin Guide.

Everyone that rides through here knows that the connection between the Arbutus Greenway and Kent sucks. No wayfinding, steep hills, parking lots, 6-lane arterials... The good news is a motion from @mikeklassen.bsky.social aims to fix this! Along with much needed improvements on Kent. (1/3)
A map showing the current detour between the Arbutus Greenway and Kent, and a potential gap fix which connects the two properly.

You’ve got until 3pm to check out the Abbott Street Lunch Meet street party, between West Hastings and Pender, sponsored by the @hxbia.bsky.social. Loving this activation of the block and hope it can be expanded to more days. Also don’t miss the Pastel de Nata from Casa De Nata on Abbott.

I was pleased to join the housing minister & non-profit partner Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society for the groundbreaking of 97 new affordable rental homes on Adanac St. This is 1 of 3 affordable housing projects in the city benefiting from city CHIP grants, land equity & fee exemptions. #vanpoli

These plazas have boosted vibrancy in our neighbourhoods, helping provide “third spaces” for residents to relax, gather and socialize. ☀️ ☕️ Looking forward to the completion of two new permanent ones - Hastings & Kamloops and Bute & Robson soon. vancouversun.com/news/local-n... #vanpoli

Joined my fellow councillors for a tour of social enterprise Sole Food Street Farms today in the Olympic Village. For the past 16 years, Sole Food has been producing locally grown and sustainable produce and providing employment for up to 30 people on their 3 acre site. 🥕 🍏 🍅

In Vancouver, city hall denotes when a councillor votes “abstains” on a motion, even though that legally means they voted yes.

It’s a weird and confusing rule that doesn’t really happen anywhere else in the province, so here’s my snarky story about why it was back in the news this week.

Today, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band) and the City of Vancouver proudly unveiled the street signs for šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmasəm Street. Each street corner will display two street signs: šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmasəm Street and its English translation, Musqueamview. #reconciliation #vanpoli
