The famous Swiss artist Giacometti had many child-like drawings in his oeuvre / archive. Kosovo’s Petrit Halilaj brought them to life in a terrific Giacometti-Halilaj exhibition at Foundation Giacometti.

Oh wow. Greeks gambled more than €15.6 billion during 2024. That’s 1560€ annually for every resident, native or foreign, old or young. That’s some serious, serious money, almost equal to entire tourism revenue of circa 20billion.

So sad. I posted about Thomas Hylland Eriksen few months ago. He was one of the world’s great social anthropologists. I met him few times and his book really helped me understand the world better in 1997. He passed away this week.

A great new café/brunch place focused on egg-dishes and organic juices is opening in Lakrishte/Pejton Place neighborhood of Prishtina called Seven Sundays. It’s very instagrammable and very good coffee and food actually.

At the nigh hour of this mandate, Kosovo gov reaching nadir w/ new scandals. Latest is the 100,000€ grant given by Minister of agro to the brother of gov MP who’s also member of agro committee in parliament. At same time, an agricultural collective of women victims of war was denied the same grant.

Great to see Bedri Hamza, Mayor of Mitrovica, with high level Norwegian diplomats. Norway is a key ally of Kosovo and can provide both know how and financing for a host of development projects, including energy sector.

Previous Kosovo governments had good contact with Senator Rubio, who may becoming Secretary of State. He was enthusiastic supporter of Kosovo & Israel establishing diplomatic ties, and has previously met former President Thaçi.

Anyone who’s been in #Kosovo knows we have a bit of a problem with stray dogs. But they are also the main characters of recently published comics book by Sarah Bergquist Kosumi & an old friend, illustrator Shpend Kada. I ordered mine in the local bookshop but it’s in too!

We came to Norway with family, not really expecting temperatures are going to break records (minus 29 Celsius last night). Still had plenty of fun, meeting old friends, gallery-hopping, warm bakery chilling… tomorrow we go even more north cross country skiing! From #Kosovo to #Norway with #love.
