Rating... 4.5/5 Genre... Speculative Fiction This novel was very slow. It wasn't exactly a part that I disliked, but I was very aware of how slow it felt. I thought this one ended in a satisfactory way, with the main characters acceptance of herself and her mother (and of course, the death of her creepy boss!) Originally, I worried that this was going to be another vampire novel that felt a lack of actual vampirism, but instead I found Lyd's journey entirely enjoyable in the end.

Finally reviewed Gideon the Ninth! Which you would think I'd have done ages ago, based off the GtN ita bag I'm working on...
Review: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
Rating… 5/5 Genre… Sci-Fi, Fantasy I think this book changed my life. And I wish I was being dramatic. But I did not feel like the same person after putting this book down and crying over it for about two hours straight. And I could probably go into depth about every little thing in this book that I loved, but I'll try to stick to the bigger parts.

Oh we're talking about other fantasy books for young readers, can I interest you in The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander, my lifelong obsession? I re-read them recently and they truly hold up.
