One parallel I think about is how we went through decades where religious conservatives tried to frame homosexuality as a pathological ideology, where it was like an illness that was dangerous to families and cultural norms and that gay folks could be reprogrammed to be cured.

People can say what they want of course, but when folks use the term "gender ideology" they are no longer talking just about how people should participate in sports; they are saying that trans identity is a ideological construct (that should be rejected).

And the institutions that are outright obstructing answers as well as others that are not aggressively pursuing answers. It is something to see how many institutions have been paralyzed because the firehose of lies and gaslighting and bizarre misdirection has been too much.

Sometimes, I can't believe the questions about the president that haven't been answered. Of course what is in the Epstein Files. But also, did his ear actually get hit with a bullet? How did Musk help him in the election? Has he stopped one war? How much money have tariffs actually raised?

I was taught about Germany's descent into Fascism many times during schooling but don't really know if this sort of absurd fumbling lying madness was part of the historical narrative. If so, I never read about it.

The rider did several things very well. Ran the bike up to speed so the motor would engage in a meaningful way. That hard swerve to the left. The smooth remount. Impressive effort under duress.
