I asked @tarapalmeri what a Trump pardon of Ghislaine Maxwell would mean for the survivors? Her answer is…dark. A preview of tomorrow’s “To the Contrary” Podcast. Subscribe to get the full video when it's released.

Sudan: Thousands resort to eating animal feed to survive in besieged Al Fashir
Al Fashir, and its 900,000 inhabitants, have been held hostage by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces for 14 months. Food and fuel is blocked from entering, and its people are suffering as a result.

Trump (Trump?) (Trump!) being seen as the more honest and wholesome alternative means you've got real credibility problems.

Privately owned monopoly social media giants and universities are complicit in this.

We're in a very bad way. And elderly useful idiots who don't want to seem superannuated

Bluesky's never growing if basic decency and sanity are illegal.

It's peak "supply-side" economics at this point.

Fairness Doctrine?

Smschfairness Doctrine ...
He's a fantastic journalist that's why people listen to him. Bluesky isn't particularly representative that's why it might seem surprising.

What the hell happened to people like Twitter's "Mee Maw," who suddenly metamorphosed into posting [really weird things] and suddenly über-creepy elderly Arizonans like William Coffin:

Prions in the brain?

Or audience capture?

This whole story is insane. Tesla apparently did everything it could to avoid providing the data it had about its Autopilot crash. This is just a snippet and there's a lot more. electrek.co/2025/08/04/t...

I had to spend two and a half years fighting a frivolous lawsuit that was a direct result of Bollea v. Gawker. And that lawsuit massively decreased our capability to do what we do, so I take issue with one of Hulk Hogan's lawyers claiming that Bollea v. Gawker had no impact on journalism

Among other ... issues ...
A Techdirt troll was pointing to this news today as evidence that Trump's plans are popular. But his policies are equally as unpopular. Seems pretty clear people hate Trump's policies AND HATE THAT THE DEMS DON'T SEEM TO BE ACTING WITH ANY SENSE OF URGENCY TO STOP THEM.

"Like other species, humans need to act on information about the sex of their conspecifics in order to reproduce."

Why would one want to so to speak "muddy the waters"?

Rhetorical even asking is it?

Parker?

Peter, they should have named this sucker "Icarus"

Sans the wax wings. But without the wax (lots of wax in Greek myths).
Scientists have released the closest images ever taken near the sun, captured by NASA’s Parker Solar Probe flying 3.8 million miles above the solar surface.

There was something I couldn't quite grok (not in the, in the Heinlein, not that other guy sense) could not put my finger on,

Those big hats worn in the Russian military?

They look like halos!

Of the saints. Or Icons.

Chef's hats only more heavenly yet even than billowing clouds.

Nobody likes the Nazi Goon squads.

Some idiots think they won't be subject to them too.

Already if you live within a hundred miles of the border, automatically you are. Or if you even visit.
Two components jump out to me on a fourier analysis of this wave form:

a) a very large one of people who just, well, it's about Trump (his Nazi Goon squads).

b) people who've been, and are, have been bamboozled and are, felling guilty, about being on "stolen land" so they invite MORE people in?
