Early screen exposure reshapes our brains, alters our ability to form interpersonal bonds, and disrupts emotional growth. Blending #neuroscience and #psychology and backed by research, @danielnemo.bsky.social reveals disturbing insights into what it means to grow up with screens. A must-read:

Once the rain let up I was sure
the East River’d have a new tributary
to show for it. Instead, more of the same,

and a new subspecies of kingfisher
last night; I dreamt it, but couldn’t
make out its eyes. It dripped dark green

from a black marsh tree, and it was large, looked
large, even in its large tree. That’s how
you can tell. It might’ve flown

How can there be laughter,
how can there be pleasure, when
the whole world is burning?

I found these words in a book
called Buddha’s Teachings,
translated from the Pali by

Juan Mascaró. It startled me,
at first, by its contemporary
relevance, Gaza in flames

So you take some symbol, like
the overcoat the pockets
an obscure tangle of thread & air
so any weight dropped there went right
to the lining:
             that strange mix
of discretion & batwing billow – no buttons
either, or maybe there once were
 one or two
across the front, the whole thing
angles, panels. This is overexplaining.
