Nothing made me more sure that the NWSL salary cap was egregiously low than writing this article and trying to determine how teams could pay players a proper wage + retain “marquee” players.

It is critical that collective bargaining agreements be honored in accordance with federal labor laws—especially at a time of tremendous growth for women’s sports.

Berman and owners get f*ckin serious: increase the salary cap so you can afford your superstars AND veteran and young players AND can pay them ALL quality and liveable wages. Teams should not have to field daycare aged squads or pay one person due to cap b/c you can’t pay, & lose stars and vets
