Found a Box Fruit tree on the beach in Sri Lanka. The flower only opens at night and is fragrant but it is very poisonous

When we left Kalutara for a two day trip to Ella & Nuwara Eliya, we were told it was heavy rains so we went ahead in our mission to visit the Sita Amman Temple. We didn't know it would end up being a cyclone until we thankfully made it back by the skin of our teeth. #cycloneditwah

What most people know as cinnamon is actually Cassia. Sri Lanka is where most real cinnamon originates and this is how it is made. The bark is shaved off. The first layer is the cinnamon, which is peeled and dried for 7 days. The bark is burned (usually burned to distill its leaves into oil)
