Loving the evaluation feature inside N8N.

Coming from the dev world. I break things down into separation of concerns.
This means a lot of client builds are split into sub-workflows.

This makes testing a 1,000% better

The end of the year is fast approaching.

2025 = me realising my dream of running a business.
It's been 5 months since I went full-time.

I can never go back to the corporate grind.
I'd rather watch Miracle on 34th St, while listening to Michael Buble

Running a business at 45.
The last thing you want to do is work all night.

T'internet and phrases have gone mad!

Ask a question.
Get told it's "rage-bait"

Getting too old for this shit, ha ha.

"What would this look like if it were easy"

I've still not been able to answer that.

People keep asking me (well, stealing my 20+ years of automation experience).
"What automation should I learn to start my own agency?"

That's the wrong question.
I asked myself recently, "Which industry is time poor but cash rich?"

Now that's worth answering

It's winding down for Christmas.
Everyone is saying, "Let's touch base in Jan"
2 client builds on the go still.

Initial testing of a 4-part workflow for a client reduced a 2-hour job down to 24 seconds.

Finally set up a proper (self-hosted) CRM over the weekend instead of using Notion.

Plugged into my automations and my VA AI Agent as well.

It's great to visualise the pipeline and see how much potential revenue is sitting there 🤯

Most AI automation fails before it starts.

Why?

People automate the wrong things.

Instead of copying templates, look at what wastes your time. Rank 2-5 tasks by impact and simplicity. Then automate those.

Start from your process, not someone else's solution.

Facebook is paying me $700+ just before Christmas

- I've grown the page to 20K followers (up from 3.5K a month ago)
- Had 4.6 million views on content in the last 28 days.

Best thing. It's all done on autopilot for a side project.
No daily engagement.
No dancing in my underwear

Wild!

I've got to the age where Christmas is an inconvenience more than anything.

I'm a man of routine, and it gets in the way of
-Workouts
-Building my empire

Wake me up when it's done.

The gap between 6-figure and 7-figure business owners isn't intelligence. It's leverage through automation.

I wasted hours on automation tools that changed nothing.

Then I learned the real secret: most people automate the wrong tasks.

I took a 30-minute course that showed me what to fix first.

Now I save 10+ hours a week and stopped chasing busywork.

Here’s the framework I used:

My Automation Agency is slowing down for Xmas.
- 1 project in the build phase
- 1 handed over for final testing before PRD deployment
- 1 ongoing maintenance ready for phase 2 in the NY.

And leads are a little slow.

But I'm using the time to think instead of do.
How can I improve my lead gen?

WAHOO! It's Monday.

What's the plan for this week?

At 45, one of the best things I've done for my health recently.
Is to start playing 7-a-side football now and again.

-Great HIIT session.
-Strengthen leg muscles that don't get used.
-Get to see my mates more than I have been doing.

They say Facebook Pages are dead!
No! Your content is rubbish.

The FB page for a side project was at 3.5K for ages (and was losing followers).
Today, I've got 19.5K

< 4 weeks to have a 457% increase in followers.

The best part. FB are paying $650+ as well 😲

My predictions for 2026, in the AI & automation arena.

You won't be able to predict what is around the corner.

Sorry. Not sorry 🤪

I've not heard "Fairtytale of New York" being played yet.

If you're still working 60+ hours weekly despite having a team, you're not a leader; you're just terrible at delegation.
December 11, 2025 at 12:48 PM
Automation gets messy fast.

We start every project with one rule: keep it simple.

Smaller workflows. Clear boundaries. Stack them like LEGO.

It’s easier to scale when each block does one job well.

Overbuilding on day one kills momentum.
