You (Ukraine) have the right to decide for yourself who you want to be friends with, where you want to go to school, and how you want to live. No one else can dictate terms to you, especially if that someone is trying to control you by force.

At the same time, intimidating your neighbours not to interfere. This is absolutely crazy and unfair, and it does not justify Russia’s actions.

Can any of this be fair? Certainly not.

Russia talks about "good intentions" ("protecting Russian speakers"), but holds a "gun" in the form of troops that are slowly occupying your backyard.

However, your neighbour says: "No, you can't join, because I want to." He goes on - threatens you and tries to take away a part of your backyard (Crimea, Donbas), claiming that it is "his land."

So, one day, you decide perhaps it’s better to stay away from him and join the local neighbourhood clubs (#NATO and #EU), where everyone respects each other, helps each other when needed and follows common set of rules - agreed by all members of the respective clubs.
