After reviewing the story, @philbrickellmp.bsky.social, who is pushing for a change in the law to stamp out “routine abuse of our legal system to stifle accountability and scrutiny”, told @londonermag.bsky.social that “urgent action is required now to tackle vexatious legal claims”.

In response to my representations directly to the Justice Minister, I can confirm that she has now written to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) seeking assurances that they are investigating the concerns raised by leaseholders and by myself.

Following reporting by the Manchester Mill regarding Milne, in December I met with and subsequently wrote to Justice Minister, Sarah Sackman KC MP, to flag the serious allegations concerning leaseholds in Horwich.

As a Greater Manchester MP, that’s not what I came into politics for. And it's not what my constituents want either.

We must focus on supporting whoever is selected, tackling the cost-of-living & improving public services across GM.

Anything else is a complete distraction from the task at hand.
