"He would carry that spark his life over the waters..." is gibberish. LeGuin does this every now and again, and it is so annoying.

Ursula Le Guin is a good storyteller, but I do feel like In need more from her when it comes to the world she is building.
Not more in terms of "stuff" but I don't feel like EarthSea is a complete world.
