Retired. Was a public servant. Live in the Blue Mountains.
Notre voiture familiale pendant de nombreuses années était une Valiant Regal 770 318 V8 de 1971, j'ai appris à conduire et j'ai réussi mon test de conduite dans cette bête ! De bons souvenirs de ma jeunesse!

Going with the theme here, my first car, which I traded for the Galant, was a Hillman Arrow. Pictured here appropriately in the rain as it leaked like sieve.

Those Galants were great little cars. We had three in the family at one time. This was my 1971 sedan. Chrysler Australia fitted some with the homolgation engines for the Southern Cross Rally Lancers, this was one of them. Very quick car.

Insurance covered replacements but they were no longer available. New set looked OK and were round with tyres, which was a bonus under the circumstances.

They also liked the lovely Japanese Enkei alloy wheels I bought for it. Left the car sitting flat on its belly on the street when they stole them.

Ford also restyled the front and rear of the Mazda 323 for the Laser and Meteor. Sold lots of them, too. I bought this Meteor new in 82.

RHD wipers fitted, but the holes for the LHD wipers were still there, filled with black rubber plugs. My hair was still there then. Oh well.

I owned a yellow 1.4 in the late 70s, bought from a mate. It was a good car. I added the chrome wheel trim rings, always thought they looked unfinished with the standard dark grey wheels.

I drove my brother’s 1283P quite often. Certainly a delight to drive, very special.

Mandatory here in front seats in 1969 and all seats in 1971. This 1971 Valiant was the first car the family bought with seatbelts front and rear.

Fine cars both, but I’ll stick with my Capri. 😀
