This morning, I’m eating breakfast on the covered porch and watching the treeline for signs of deer or mink or foxes. It’s cool and quiet and my family is still asleep. Crickets, cicadas, frogs — a rooster crowing. There’s even a wagon in the backyard. It’s goddamn wholesome, is what it is.

I was an extra on the set of the Redford-directed film “The Conspirator.” If you’ve never done film work, it’s a ton of hurry up and wait. So, dressed in Civil War era garb, me and a friend, with ten feet between us, began making faces at each other. 1/3
