New Sci. Am. article looks at sediment in ancient Roman sewer systems and found that Romans guarding Hadrian's wall were full of whipworms, roundworms, and Giardia. And there was no cure, either. You were infected for life.

The sand cat (Felis margarita) is a small cat adapted to the deserts of Africa & Asia (Sahara, Arabian, Karakum).

Long hairs cover their paws to protect them from burning sands & they can dig burrows to hide in during the hottest part of the day.

Let's talk about the original Sandy Paws. 🎅🐱

SNAP is a lifeline for workers in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

Reindeer / caribou can't fly, but they can swim!

During their migrations, it's not uncommon for them to cross large expanses (~35 mi) of sea-ice & swim up to 1.5 miles (2.5 km) in frigid water to cross rivers, inlets and go from island to island.

Let's talk about their special winter coats!

On #WorldToiletDay , did you know that ~97% of the global population have a mobile phone, but only ~75% have a safe clean toilet or managed sanitation? Poor sanitation leads to poor water quality, which leads to poor health, which limits education & prosperity. @IWAHQ @Gw4Water

But today, 3.4 billion people still don’t have a safe toilet.
