I hear you. But there are a number of strategic reasons to do so - I've worked with UN+other global initiatives long enough to see the bright, compassionate, collaborative truth-telling side of several European nations - consistently Scandinavian nations, Netherlands, even France and formerly UK.

For a number of years I was a an editor of a Royal Society journal and offered to help young and non-English speakers with manuscript editing and preparation before submission. With our metrics of societal success, diversity is too often an afterthought, a blindspot, or institutionalized supremacy.

Doesn't make $ sense either. 20 yrs ago we published global summaries of ecosystem health/trends and their ability to support human health, economies, & wellbeing. We can't let political chaos in a few countries make us take our eye off the ball of climate & ecosystem stabilization.
