OK, I see the ID on Inara and the ID in the logs.

There's also the FID at the bottom of Elite's splash screen, which is the specific FID I'm talking about.

In what appears to be DW3's response, they write that some of MetaElite's functionality is server-side because it can't be done on the client.

And that's fine. But they don't need people's Frontier IDs to do that. And they don't need to store the combo of FID and IP address.

Because the program both reads player logs and transmits data directly to the MetaElite server, it could mean DW3 staff are collecting information they could use to personally identify #EliteDangerous commanders. If so, that would be a direct violation of Frontier's Terms of Service.

And I hit the roof of the galaxy! That middle image, with the T Tauri star, is about 3,100 light-years above Sagittarius A*. I stopped along the way up to visit one of the original Distant Worlds waypoints, and I found an Earth-like world on my way back to Explorer's Anchorage.

A Scarab SRV sits at the Altum Sagittarii waypoint for the original Distant Worlds expedition, on planet 4 f a in the Nyuena JS-B d342 system. Planet 4 is visible in the sky, against the backdrop of the Milky Way. A lone T Tauri star, Syroomaei EG-Y g6 sits about 3,100 light-years above Sagittarius A*. A Caspian Explorer is visible near the lower left. About 2/3 of the Milky Way galaxy is visible, as is the Andromeda galaxy. An Earth-like world hangs about 2,100 light-years above the galactic center. Almost the entirety of the Milky Way is beneath the world, in Hypuae Audst OL-B d14-209, with only a scattering of stars shining above it.

This, by the way, is a pattern of behavior for the #DistantWorlds3 staff. If you ask them to clarify their policies, or you criticize the expedition in any way, they will become highly defensive, remark that they're volunteers, even make up excuses to ban critics from their Discord.
A message from Satsuma, the administrator of the FleetComm Discord that runs Distant Worlds 3, writes, "I have been given a document that you an another CMDR have been distributing htat violates the FleetComm naming-and-shaming rule, as well as publishing private conversations. Because of this, and because of past behavior, you have been banned from the FleetComm discord, and removed from the FleetComm private group."

Keep in mind, this is a member of the #DistantWorlds3 staff, resorting to name-calling because he doesn't understand the in-game camera suite's capabilities, and accuses me of "harassment."

I reached out to the DW3 folks back October and offered to replace their genAI imagery with #EliteDangerous in-game images. I offered again in January. I've attached both cropped and uncropped versions here. I used the in-game camera's zoom and focus controls to create depth of field.

MetaElite's quest givers have portraits, much like any RPG. For Distant Worlds 3's narrative content, the portraits show characters whose shirts fade into their skin, and where gibberish replaces any potentially legible text.
