I was in high school when ICE came into existence. I remember it happening. Anyone my age or older can remember a time before ICE, and it really wasn’t that different! It’s not a radical policy proposal because the department didn’t really change policy, just created a new culture of cruelty.
If you don’t want ICE on your block but think “Abolish ICE” is too extreme, you desire a terrorized “other”…just not where it inconveniences you.
If you are, say, a mayor or politician with this view, then you want freedom from terror while also wanting the option to set terror upon others.

Philly should have kicked a field goal instead of calling timeout.
the question is: what is the benefit of getting the ball back in your own territory with about 25 seconds left when you have to score a touchdown? At best you get one hail mary shot. Is that more worth than getting the right play and everybody on the same page for the biggest play of the season?

Wrote my first draft of protectees so long ago that I have to dig to find it. Will wait for official rules to publish. I love that our contracts database has made stuff like this viable. As one of few people who wrote a Dream mock expansion draft in 2008, there was so much guesswork involved. #WNBA
Now that we know existing WNBA teams will be able to protect five players for the upcoming expansion draft to start building rosters for the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo after a new CBA is signed, I looked at what players could be available based on current rules: www.espn.com/wnba/story/_...
