Every time things pop off the zone is flooded with first aid advice for pepper spray. It's basically a meme at this point. Fam, it sucks, but you will survive getting pepper sprayed. A single head injury from an object or a baton could kill you. Wear a helmet. This concludes our advice for the day

Capitalism is fucked for a lot of reasons but this lack of long term thinking in terms of care is an everyday example of what is driving larger scale stuff like the climate catastrophe.

Damp especially has to be understood in terms of the current energy crisis. If we can't afford to keep the heating on long enough to stop pipes freezing or moisture building up then that kind of damage is inevitable

Houses need maintanence, when i was living in a housing co-operative that had paid off its mortgage we still paid rent because even in a home you care for things get damaged or simply too old

Structurally nobody is caring for a lot of rented housing, temporary tenants have no reason to get invested and often no capacity to. Either through lack of money, time or permission
