Just had to check what was on that one 9-track tape of mine, but seems like this one is already on bitsavers (allthough decoded from the shorter 1600bpi encoded version of the tape).

It is a bit higher complexity than I would expect from an 8-bit operating system released in early 1977, but the disassembly of this will soon come to a github near you.. As soon as I have annotated the 5000-or-so lines of Intel 8080 code.

That feeling when you realize this ancient program that parses source code, specifically also checks for Ctrl+X "Cursor Right" of DEC VT-05 fame, as a valid whitespace.
That being said, the terminal this was written for does support this control code, but who uses arrow-right instead of space?!

Somehow I ended up with not one, but two original ones before I even had a chance to complete the replica... Oh well, it's still a golden oppertunity to compare the layout with the original. Especially the one I took most components off, as it looks like it has been through a war or something.

I was today years old when I realized the modules of the Tandberg TDV-2100 series of computers and terminals adhere to the Eurocard standard. 233mm high (U6), 220mm deep.
Not really surprised, since I have come to learn the head architect used to work for Mycron, and the MYCRO-1 is U6, 160mm deep.

So I recently reverse-engineered this arcade pong game board to figure out the pinout. The only thing stopping me for doing a plug-n-play here is that there's some DC bias on the composite video.
Also I have to physically cut jumpers to unlock horizontal input, and I am not sure I want to do that.

Cards are here, and the alignment is indeed rather good. Just gotta see how much wiggle-room it has in the card slot now, then put some chips on the board.

Next project for the Tandberg, gonna clone this card from a 13 year old photo I took and some barely readable schematics I found through a German web-forum.
There's a total of 7 serial ports on this one, with powered current-loop lines. It enables connecting a lot of dumb-terminals to the computer.

Today, cable management, and mounting of the working drives. Still need to 3D-print faceplates in the correct color, and mount proper feet for the box.

Now to get the final front plates printed in off-beige PLA, then off to mounting the working drives instead of the placeholder one.

I finally figured out when this bottle was from. There's apparently a production stamp on the back of the label and in the box, and both agree on February 2009. They didn't start selling these before the summer of 2009 from what I read, so that kinda tracks.
