A CARTOONIST!!

Crunchy timelines burn people out. Low page rates and advances burn people out. Give a cartoonist a living salary and the time to work, and you are investing in a long-term CAREER. Books get passed around. Audiences grow over TIME. Books don't have to be first-day bestsellers to be successful.

(The editor that signed me on moved companies and i got passed around bc i think no one else was interested in working on a middle grade book that was still at the pub house)

Same cartoonist also did an interview with another cartoonist, i have to keep this vague but the cartoonist being interviewed was trying to talk about their experience with something and they just kept talking over that cartoonist the whole interview. That also just left a bad taste in my mouth

I wish i could remember more specifics, i do remember it was the year Ducks came out and was sweeping the awards. It just one of those things someone wants to complain on the internet but they just look like a total dumbass doing so

I also recently got an ipad and tried procreate first, but just couldnt find satisfaction with inking in it, whereas using csp is just like using it on the desktop. I think procreate is okay for sketching but i still preferred csp for inking

Today was actually my last day at this shop too lol. I'm starting a new job next Monday.

I was mainly looking at finishing equipment bc that's what they really need at the shop. They need to automate more of the processes. Meanwhile our boss's boss keeps insisting we get into embroidery 🤦

It's also like, jamming sensors to watch the paper paths is such a common trouble shooting thing that clear panel covers would just make that easier

Riso also was the only one to put clear panels on the machine so you can see the paper travel through it and it's just so sick. They said they only have that for display models but they should just sell them like that
