We explore how transborder workers, very present in the Polish-German #border region, remain largely invisible for local populations; how different lifeworlds intersect or remain separate; and how #multimodal #methods can make these invisibilities, intersections and disjunctions more tangible.

Please join us for the screening of three short films and a discussion about everyday (migrant) activism. Together with the creators, Piotr Goldstein and Phaedra Douzina-Bakalaki, we will talk about what activism is. Does it only happen in organizations and movements? Does all activism make sense? Who can become an activist? Who are ‘professional activists’, and who will never be ‘socially active’? Finally, how can we decolonise the ways in which we research, think, and talk about activism?

In early June the VISION team went for a field visit to Romania. We explored the city of Iași and rural areas around the city, met local researchers and talked to people in the region. It was a great experience and a very fruitful short research stay! Here is a short clip we recorded on the road.
