This is a photo I took with my phone. It is a portion of the top of an old oak wine barrel. Leaves and water accumulated on the top, and then the water iced over in an interesting way, not smooth over the top, but in streaky sheets at many angles.

Overlooking a lake from above. The photo is exposed so the pine trees and hills surrounding the lake are nearly black. The sky behind the lake is orange, darker at the horizon and becoming more pale above. The water in the lake reflects blue sky above at the bottom right of the photo and begins to reflect the orange towards the middle. Two small islands are on the lake. Steam is rising off the far end of the lake.
