My parents are divorced and are now basically best friends, which is adorable, but for most of my life my ex-step mum was so annoyed we kept inviting him to family events, like he wasn't still our dad and part of our family. It's bizarre.

The concept is sound, and in 2025 entirely believable. I just think Jonathan Pryce plays him in such an OTT way that he's just cartoonish
