2: Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Director's Cut

A lesser known classic from the golden age of point-and-clicks. You can tell that there's care put into this version of the game, it's very charming and fun.

1: Star Trek: The Motion Picture

I liked it enough but it's nowhere near the best of TOS. Very pretty models (that we spend about an hour of runtime holding on) and a plot that eventually just becomes recycled 2001 concepts. I do appreciate it for what it is, though.

Pixel's 2025 Media Thread

I split it up over on Twitter because I've been doing video game threads since 2019 but that's too much work to do across two platforms so fuck it.

I also love how every time Sally walks into scene her ass is on display like it's its own character. She's such a fun character on top of being eye candy, I love her and her relationship with Alex.

This shit is so unbelievably stylish it's one of those "I can't believe this was a serialized manga" moments. Jaw-dropping thick black shading in nearly every chapter, just an insane amount of quality on display at every turn.

I finished Keyman over Thanksgiving and HOLY. SHIT. This manga is incredible.

It starts with the premise of a Trex cop and a loli investigate the murder of a superhero

and goes places that I could never have fathomed

The Invincible is a fantastic adaptation of the Polish 70s hard sci-fi novel of the same name, an adventure game about theoretical evolution and ethical conundrums. It's something I'm going to be thinking about for a while.

Animal Well is going into that category alongside Axiom Verge of "Metroidvanias that don't reinvent the wheel at all but do its job incredibly well". It's so incredibly dense and charming, I got to the credits but have only scratched the surface of just how much is here.
