I'm so excited I need to share this: me and a friend are building an atproto PDS here in Brussels, BE. We are testing it on a Synology NAS behind a dynamic IP Address. The UI is based on pds-dash by @witchcraft.systems (thank god they made it in @svelte.dev ). You know what gets me so excited?

It did not start with Trump. US Ideologist Steve Bannon was the kingpin of the wave of fascism that's now taking over western democracies. I tried connecting the dots of influence that leads to the current geopolitical situation. It's not looking good for Europe. Will we rise to the challenge ?

Les plateformes comme Facebook, Instagram ou d’autres services du groupe Meta posent aujourd’hui de sérieuses questions éthiques : atteintes à la vie privée, enfermement algorithmique, manipulation de l’attention et dépendance à des logiques de rentabilité plutôt qu’à la diffusion du contenu culturel. Ces outils, jadis pratiques pour se faire connaître, tendent désormais à restreindre la visibilité naturelle au profit de campagnes sponsorisées, ce qui va à l’encontre de l’esprit d’ouverture et de partage qui anime un centre culturel. Des alternatives émergent, plus saines et respectueuses des utilisateurs. Parmi elles, Bluesky, réseau social décentralisé, offre une approche plus démocratique et transparente de la communication en ligne. Il permet de garder le contrôle de son contenu, d’échanger dans un environnement sans publicité ni exploitation des données personnelles, et de construire des communautés plus authentiques autour de projets artistiques et citoyens. Le Centre culturel d’Uccle pourrait jouer un rôle pionnier dans cette transition, en rejoignant Bluesky ou d’autres plateformes ouvertes. Cette démarche serait cohérente avec vos valeurs : soutenir la création, encourager la diversité numérique, et inspirer le public par l’exemple d’un engagement concret pour une culture numérique responsable. Cloudflare is having serious issues this afternoon and it impacts a crazy amount of apps we use at work (spendesk, chatgpt, cursor, Elementor, Github, ... to name just a few)

But it does not seem to affect @bsky.app , which is great!
