I'm 100% in on game preservation collecting physical games, and not requiring Internet and patches to play games, but I feel like switch 1 games needing patches for switch 2 is kinda fine, even if annoying.

Like all these games still work out of the box on the hardware they were actually made for

It's sooooo good. It's really rare nowadays to play a game that both feels like it belongs on a ps2 but also doesn't feel a bit dated as a result

If youre into 3d platformers:

Jak trilogy
Ratchet trilogy
Sly trilogy

I-Ninja is super underrated

My personal Deepcut: Whiplash (I feel like this game doesn't come up nearly enough)

Is this also the first time it being multiplatform has been mentioned? I thought this was switch 2 exclusive?

Also, I don't care what people say, the rhythm game boss fight is not hard, you're just bad at rhythm games. #sly #slycooper #backlog #backloggd #ps2

3. Sly Cooper
Haven't done a full playthrough of this since the sly trilogy came out in 2010. I really love this game and haven't played 2 and 3 all the way through since renting them from blockbuster as a kid. Definitely gonna try and play through them this year.

Pixelsplayground's review of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus | Backloggd
God I love this game. Haven't played it since the ps3 re-release in 2010. It still holds up if you're as nostalgic as I am for ps2 platformers with an art style that holds up pretty well.

The ...

2. Robocop Rogue City
Really enjoyed this game but I swear to God no one at Teyon plateaued that final boss before shipping the game it was bloody awful.

Pixelsplayground's review of RoboCop: Rogue City | Backloggd
Really fun, kinda mindless game that doesn't overstay its welcome. There's nothing revolutionary here, you point guns at grunts and you shoot. It's satisfying and entertaining but there's nothing intr...

Planning on 100% this at one point and by my rules 100%-ing a game gets it a second entry on this thread so expect that maybe idk

1. Super Mario Galaxy (Switch)
This is my favourite game of all time (tied with jak 2) and the new switch version is pretty good. I really enjoyed the new textures qol improvements and playing handheld was pretty well adapted, but the Wii controls and sensor bar are still the way to go for me imo

I'm also planning on leaving reviews for each game on #backloggd as I go but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get lazy and not follow through with that

In 2025 I only managed to beat 17 games (compared to 34 in 2024). I always had a goal of playing 52 games in a year, hopefully I'll pull through thus year, though I have a shit ton of jrpgs to catch up on

And why have game journalists suddenly started forcing the term "Gameplay Loop" into every review. That phrase never came up before 2020 and we never needed it to begin with.

Like why do people keep using the term "colorway" when they just mean color? Like your new IPhone isn't in a "blue colorway" it's just a blue iphone
