That looks great. Though I don't really think of Detroit-style as pizza pie so much as Italian-flavored bread, when that's what I want, I want it bad!

Here's one I made a while back

Pizza al Trancio has a thick, airy, focaccia-like crust that's crispy on the bottom, and it's usually baked in a pan at very high heat. It's known for having a generous amount of savory, thick tomato sauce, and lots of mozzarella and toppings.

By the time it's all over, I'll have spent more on physical therapy ($35 x 12 sessions) than on replacing an entire knee. I'll never understand Medicare or insurance, but I'm not complaining.

The best part is that you can make this recipe, portion and freeze cookies in little balls, then bake them when you want them, a few at a time. I make batches of ~30 and pull them out when I want a snack, or sometimes, when I'm cooking something else, but the oven is hot. Even works on the grill:

And can I say, even bad cookies taste good.

Bandage came off this morning. The knee's healing nicely, one week after replacement surgery.

Currently hoping for more bad weather because we're up to here in lasagna, gumbo, minestrone, and other pre-storm (and pre-knee replacement surgery) meal prep

Carnitas el Momo is in Boyle Heights. If it's not the best carnitas you ever ate, send me your bill and payment info and I'll give your money back.

Tacos el Ruso is in Los Feliz. Video I shot demonstrates the skill that goes into their food.

Just took a look at your bio again, I'm realized that we could have crossed paths in a few different places.

I made, portioned and froze a Lasagna Bolognese last week, as well as turkey/andouille gumbo, minestrone, and other delicious, nutritious rewards for doing my PT.
