Like, I think he's framing it as outsider looking in kind of thing. What's actually big in Christianity and what appears to be big in the religion is skewed when you're not of the religion.

I'm pretty sure he's trying to focus on popular evangelical ideas being more visible by evoking "Christianity as presented in American pop culture"

Money lenders in the temple is an important story, but if we only looked at Christianity through American media, the rapture may seem important instead

At no point was every denomination of Christianity in the world relevant to the conversation?

If anything, limiting it to only popular American denominations is keeping the conversation on topic

They may have said that shit was important in the Declaration of Independence, but the founders didn't even believe it when they wrote it on the page, let alone basically anyone in power since.

That sorta stuff just makes me feel like the video maker has no faith in the topic actually being interesting.

It makes me wanna stand them up straight, pat them on the back, and tell them "have some confidence: you made an hour long video, of course you think it's interesting"

Definitely had a similar experience when trying to get into stuff like guilds or other group content in games.

Seen lots of conservative chatter in RuneScape while afk skilling, and oh boy don't get me started on my experience with WoW guilds.

Like, my point isn't "copyright doesn't do enough to protect artists"; it's "copyright is literally designed to hurt artists". I absolutely do think a better world would be a world where everything is just public domain. That thread even mentions alternative propositions so artists get paid!

I think that people should care about misuse and wasting of water.

Which is why you should be campaigning against unsustainable farming practices, which wastes 10000x the water that AI does.

I think I've got it, the MO here is the community conversations and theorizing type stuff that people do with shows.

Like how when Jojo part 6 got dropped in batches on Netflix people were pissed they missed out on that experience.

(I don't get it personally, I've never been into that stuff)

Same, getting heated always sucks, makes me say dumb stuff in the heat of the moment.

I think I'm gonna try to just stick to blocking now. I saw some extremely deranged shit on the timeline today that actually had me pull out the megablock, and I nuked every person who follows someone.

Are you all the vanguard of the revolution, whose words are like commandments? Or are you just a bunch of babies who are powerless and whose words mean nothing?

Maybe choose a lane and stay in it.

I find the obsession over gawking at this stuff adolescent, immature, and beneath most people that post it

Just figured out what this is referring to a minute ago.

I am absolutely done with people going "ewwwwww" at the most tame possible furry stuff. It's a reactionary impulse.

Your analogy only works if you assume there isn't a single Democrat in the entire US government, or that politics exclusive begins and ends on election day
