Bro…I have said this to myself every day for the last 3 weeks with the intent of getting out of bed before 10am. I have yet to actually do this.
At least you have an excuse- for me, it’s just extreme burnout 🫠

Come to Innovations in Flight at the Air and Space Museum in DC in June! They usually have some WWII warbirds and military aircraft that are good for pictures. This is a C17. Sometimes they have T38 and once they even had an F22 (we couldn’t go in that one but it’s such a cool plane)

I am responding to repeated public calls to get more scientists to run for office. It sounds like you are having a different conversation.

But lots of politicians absolutely listen to their science advisors. We should support those that do and elect new ones.

I didn’t say you were wrong, per se. But politicians aren’t inclined to listen to those advisors because doing so doesn’t help them stay in office
(TLDR, there is deeper rot in politics than just not listening to advisors or who is in office in the first place. Could do a 25 hour filibuster on this)

@whysharksmatter.bsky.social that’s why what you (science comms) and I (teach intro geology classes for non-majors) is so critically important
