As the last 4 years have shown, there are few things more dangerous than a technology which does not exist but is being sold on the premise that it does. Imagine how dangerous it would be to have a machine that people believe reads thoughts but does not. Imagine what law enforcement would do with it

I think that bridge was already crossed months ago. I already see it widely used as a general-purpose synonym for "thing I don't like".
