Music, football, dogs. Pay the artists for the art that makes your life better.
May have shared before but I inherited these two for the last five years of their lives. Nearly ten years since they went within seven months of each other aged 14. i remember when the kids first got them and they could sit on each palm of my hand.

Shack were magisterial in Sheffield last night. Perfectly crafted songs suddenly spinning off at dizzying tangents. And I finally got to hear Carousel live.
Will further investigate the support Credits. Yet another Liverpool band with the obligatory impressive musical chops.

Not a bad bill 41 years ago today. Highlight was the then unreleased Perfect Blue. Part of the show was later released on a BBC album but sadly not this song.
Loved that first Blow Monkeys album and first impressions of Del Amitri were good.
IIRC, Pat Nevin was in attendance at this one.

Third trip of the year to see the band of 1981. Fifteen and look it so entry to the bar is, well barred. No choice but to watch Wild Swans who are ace, an ornate version of the headliners. Best time I saw the Bunnymen. Open with No Hands, into With a Hip and then for the next hour they just own it.

And I’d have Roger Livesey and Harvey Fierstein at no’s 2 & 3.

Three days after my one and only time. Seats were miles from the stage but I was sixteen and had to see them.

Sunday morning listening. What a band.

43 years ago today. I had terrible seats but I was 16 and I had to see them. Soundtrack to my early teenage years.

It’s a tiny venue and probably holds 50 at a push but it’s certainly unique as it’s one of the oldest buildings in Sheffield. Saw Pete Astor and David Lance Callahan there.

All I remember of them from this night is that they were noisy

Just seen my concert of the year unless Shack step up in two weeks. Patrick Fitzgerald with Julian Swales and Semay Wu at Trades Club, Hebden Bridge.
Mad As Snow was the peak. How does JS seem to barely touch that guitar yet coax such blissful sounds from it?

Siouxsie & The Banshees 28.11.82

Only time I saw them but glad it was at my favourite venue in support of Kiss in the Dreamhouse, the album when the Banshees went Technicolour.
