So I think I have this right. They do a bad job writing their software and then deploy it, for its pilot run, at a time that will impact the maximum number of people if it goes wrong. 🤔🤦♀️

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

I have a big ask. My 9yo son is autistic and he’s been raising a betta fish he named Kevin. Yesterday He asked if he could “share a photo of Kevin with the whole world“. I don’t know if this will work, but a dad’s gotta try. Like and share if that’s your thing. Kevin says hi! 🐟👋

So, as our teens clearly don’t believe in Santa anymore, I proposed that we could put presents under the tree before Xmas Eve night… But emphatically no! They may no longer believe in Santa but they are clearly fully committed to the illusion of Santa… 😂

For those making images of typical geologists, I don’t usually use a spade, (geographer) or a theodolite, (surveyor), have never found a skeleton (archeologist) and do not rob tombs (criminal). Also, I may use lab equipment, but not, in general, whilst wearing a rucksack and hiking boots. Thank you.

@robsmallshire.bsky.social and I were talking a few days ago about the need for a FailCon where all anybody does is present failures and the wisdom gained from them. I think this could easily be 2-3x more valuable and interesting than most other cons.
