Something a friend of mine says often that has started to click more for me is that the PS1 specifically was so full of games b/c it was more accessible and developers were increasingly asking "what is a game?" and exploring that potential.

I'm favoring damage from stray pokes (jab and 2LK) because tech roll makes doing crossups for oki a pretty shaky prospect, and Jaoh in particular can just walk you down + threaten an infinite at corner.
