The biggest thing holding your mix back is not fixing phase issues. You can have all the fancy plugins/gear in the world but if you aren't reigning phase in you'll end up with a dull sounding mix

Are there agents for audio engineers? If not, someone should get on that cuz you'd make a killing. Most of us are sound gremlins that suck at marketing ourselves

These days you have to take the little wins when you get them. My ears are so locked in right now that -24lufs for a broadcast mix needs no loudness correction assistance

I wish there was a one size fits all tool for dialogue work but I still have to flip between SpectraLayers Pro and RX Advanced due to one doing something better than the other

As I'm doing adjudication for an #audiodrama festival it's baffling how many are compressing the 🤬 out of their master that it sounds overbaked/crispy/distorted

Don't do that. You're ruining all your hard work of sound designing, #editing and #mixing by crisping the overall tone

Learning in a practical sense how environmental acoustics work will make your sound so much better and immersive for story based content

Knowing how sound reacts in the world under different scenarios is what separates placing sfx in a timeline vs creating an experience

Having an offline no screen hobby really helped me from feeling yuck all the time. Cannot recommend finding something you click with enough

This is my most recent cross stitch project, Stitch. Over 100k stitches and took me half a year to complete 😅

Yeah layers in sound design are important but what really makes a scene come alive via sound is all about movement: panning and EQ changes

A static mix will void any scene of "life"/immersion

I'd:
Buy an acreage and build a house that each of my immediate family gets their own wing
Build a dedicated studio building on said land
Fund and produce indie games
If you won $90,000,000, would the money change you? Or would you mostly be the same person with more resources?
