An important exploration into how the tide of politics can delay public necessities like transit.

In a perfect world, our sprawl-y Canadian cities would all be anchored along linear rail corridors just like The Trillium Line.

These projects are needed. And we need to get them right.
My new documentary THE TRAIN TO NOWHERE has just pulled into the station.

It's an exploration of Ottawa's rail history, and having hope in bleak times for transit.

🇨🇦If you live in #Ontario or #Quebec, chances are you are located in a city that has been “amalgamated.” You’ve likely even heard people harp on about it before. But what does that mean? How did it take away a key piece of our freedom?

An easy win for @octranspo.com !
I did a few trips using Line 1 today, and each time at Tunney's the doors only opened when activated by pressing the button - like Line 2. Nothing's crossed my desk, but I'm hopeful that they're at least testing keeping the doors closed in the cold weather while the train dwells in station.

So many key facts about daily life that are used by decision makers are found via investigative journalists. Reform for journalists - especially in a time where they are demonized by governments - is sorely needed!
Too bad no one’s figured out the right pricing model that balances journalists getting paid for their work with articles being generally accessible for discussion.

🧵 Ringing in Ottawa's Suburbs (thread)

🏠Canada is in a housing crisis, and the City of Ottawa is sitting on tons of vacant land just outside of its inner urban core.
