I read "Berlin Diary" by William Shirer. I'm watching the book play out in America in real time right now.

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

Her vehicle's right front panel cleared the ICE agent who didn't open fire until after he was at the side of her vehicle. He used deadly force on a fleeing individual, which is against DHS policy. This is murder. He needs to be arrested.

We’ve seen this in Chicago. Now we’re seeing it across the country.

ICE is a lawless secret police force and must be abolished. This is fucking horrific.
Absolutely horrific details about an ICE shooting in Minneapolis.

A witness says a woman was trying to drive away from an ICE operation and the ICE agent "reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times."

Bovino was there.

Greetings from Kyiv.
It’s icy today.
The Dnipro River is still frozen.

Oh, that’s how Kyiv looks when we have electricity. Gorgeous.

Factcheck:

•No payment is/was required or made from NATO members to the United States for defense.

•NATO defense spending is a national budget commitment, not a bill owed to any other country.

•Claims that allies “pay the U.S.” or “owe us money” has been widely debunked.

Paul Singer, whose firm owns the US subsidiary of Venezuela's state-owned oil company, spent millions in 2024 to re-elect Trump.

Now, after Trump's invasion of Venezuela on behalf of Big Oil, he's set to cash in on his investment.

Demand total handover of Epstein files. Allow victims to redact victims’ identities before releasing to public.

DOJ blew it; they are not up to task. Impeach/discipline Bondi.
Enough, wrap this up; let the arrests begin!

This is where we are. Read this joint statement by France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Denmark on Greenland:

"Greenland belongs to its people. It is for Denmark and Greenland, and them only, to decide on matters concerning Denmark and Greenland."

I think the Greenland threat is a troll. I think.

But it would sure be nice for some senators and GOP house members to speak up now and make it clear that an attack on a nato ally would lead to removal from office

Today the Pentagon censured Senator Mark Kelly and moved to strip part of his earned military retirement benefits for stating the truth.

This administration is trying to convince Americans that truth is whatever it says it is—even when the evidence is plainly in front of us.

I would think Maduro has head of state immunity from prosecution under international law (with exception for grave human rights violations, see, e.g., Pinochet)
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.
